Nah Trang, Cliffnotes

Twelve Hour Stop-Over in Nah Trang:
  • rented beach chairs and giant straw parasol things and sat under them practically all day while the owner of the chairs watched our belongings like a big brother
  • the clearest most beautiful water I've ever swam in despite the little kid poo floating near the beach

  • around 4 pm, the deserted beach came to life as the entire town's inhabitants congregated on the sand and in the water

  • Kady getting teary over the story she made up in her head about this little boy

  • then she starts crying after seeing hundreds of kites in the sky

Twelve hours is the perfect amount of time to idealize a town and wish you could stay. It's also the perfect amount of time to get the worst sunburn of your life, despite never setting foot in the sun.
